Newnan Youth Council Launches Alleyway Clean-Up
June 1, 2013
In its first major project of the year, the Newnan Youth Council partnered with Keep Newnan Beautiful and Waste Industries for “Attack the Alleys,” the inaugural clean-up day for the alleys in downtown Newnan.
The weekend project united community members, high school students, and adult volunteers in an effort to clean up and preserve the area. The volunteers were divided into teams. Each team had different equipment — shovels, leaf blowers, trash cans, grabbers, and rakes — and was assigned a specific alleyway downtown to clean.
